Maruti Suzuki driving the change, has sold over 3 lakh BS6 cars | Arenaworld

Maruti Suzuki has been proactive and focused to ‘drive to change’ by upgrading its car models to meet BS6 emission norms and the numbers reflect that – India’s largest car manufacturer has sold over 3 lakh BS6 compliant cars in just eight months of the launch of its first BS6 compliant vehicle!

The brand introduced its BS6 range with Alto 800 and Baleno in April 2019, a year ahead of BS6 regulations coming in force. Progressively, six more models have been launched with BS6 compliant engines, including WagonR (1.0L and 1.2L), Swift, Dzire, Ertiga, XL6 and S-Presso.

The stipulated timeline for conforming to BS6 emission norms is April 2020. Hence, in its endeavour to back the government’s vision of green and sustainable mobility, Maruti Suzuki’s BS6 line-up now has 8 models, many of which are the industry’s best-sellers.

Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa had previously stated that the mass adoption of any new technology is imperative for it to succeed. Bringing in eight BS6 compliant petrol cars in the mass segment has certainly helped Maruti Suzuki to make this technology accessible for a much larger customer base.

The key advantages that Maruti Suzuki’s BS6 compliant petrol cars offer are: -

• Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions reduced by 25%

• BS6 models can also run on BS4 petrol and have been extensively tested to ensure that there are no operational concerns

With the BS6 emission norms coming into force from April 2020, the onus lies on the car buyers to make a choice which is better for the environment. Choose from the wide range of Maruti Suzuki’s BS6 compliant cars and #BeTheChange!
