What is Smart Maintenance Plan (SMP)?
Smart Maintenance Plan (SMP) is a comprehensive, long‑term maintenance package offered by Maruti Suzuki Service that covers Periodic Maintenance Services (PMS) for a defined duration or mileage. SMP helps customers manage vehicle maintenance costs in advance, ensuring hassle‑free ownership and regular servicing with genuine parts and standardized service quality.
What are the packages available under SMP?

A. Private Vehicles

2 Years / 20,000 km (extendable up to 10 Years / 1 lakh km, whichever is earlier)

5 Years / 50,000 km (extendable up to 10 Years / 1 lakh km , whichever is earlier)

10 Years / 1 lakh km , whichever is earlier

B. Commercial / Fleet Vehicles

2 Years / 20,000 km (extendable up to 10 Years / 1.6 lakh km , whichever is earlier)

5 Years / 50,000 km (extendable up to 10 Years / 1.6 lakh km , whichever is earlier)

10 Years / 1.6 lakh km , whichever is earlier

Which vehicles are eligible for SMP?

SMP  is applicable to all Maruti Suzuki models, including Electric Vehicles (EVs).

Both  private  and  commercial/fleet vehicles  are eligible, subject to defined duration and mileage limits.

What is the difference between SMP & Extended Warranty? Do I need to purchase SMP if the vehicle is under Standard Warranty or Extended Warranty?

Standard Warranty and Extended Warranty cover repairs related to manufacturing or component failures. SMP focuses on periodic maintenance services, such as scheduled servicing, labour, parts, and consumables.

Even if a vehicle is under Standard or Extended Warranty, SMP is recommended, as maintenance expenses are not covered under warranty.

Can SMP be purchased if extended warranty is not available on the vehicle?
Yes. SMP can be purchased independently, even if Extended Warranty is not available or not opted for, subject to vehicle eligibility.
Can SMP be renewed?

Yes. SMP offers flexible renewal options.

What services are covered under SMP?

SMP covers Periodic Maintenance Services, which may include:

  • Scheduled service labour
  • Replacement of PMS parts
  • Replacement of PMS consumables
  • Clutch & Brake overhaul additional services’ wear-and-tear parts (if purchased)

What are the benefits of SMP?

 How many times can a customer avail services under SMP?

Services under SMP can be availed as per the number of periodic services covered in the selected package, within

the defined validity period and mileage limit.

Can SMP services be taken only from the selling dealer?

No. SMP offers Pan-India validity.

Customers can avail covered services at  any authorized Maruti Suzuki dealer  across India, irrespective of the selling or

enrolling dealer.

 What is the SMP coverage applicability timeline?

SMP coverage starts from the  package enrolment date  and remains valid for the selected duration or mileage limit

(whichever occurs first), as mentioned in the SMP certificate.

 Can SMP be cancelled once purchased?

Yes. SMP can be cancelled during the active period.

  • Service Maintenance Package can be cancelled anytime during the coverage period; the dealer will refund the unused balance after deducting a 10% penalty on the remaining amount to customer. Facilitation charges (2.25% debited by MSIL) included in 10% penalty will not be refunded to dealer.
  • Service Maintenance Package can’t be cancelled after coverage validity period has expired.
