The Powerful K15 Petrol Engine: An Overview

The naturally aspirated K15 petrol engine comes in two different variants, namely - 1) the K15B Petrol Engine 2) the K15B Petrol Engine with Smart Hybrid Technology.

K15B Petrol Engine: It is a 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine that strictly complies with BS6 emission norms. The engine is bigger and more powerful to ensure superior performance and the best mileage among cars in this engine segment. Along with that, you get NVH characteristics along with engine cooling performance. The engine has a peak power of 77 kW at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 138 Nm at 4400 rpm, leading to a peppy driving experience. The K15B petrol engine has a fuel efficiency of 17.03 km/l* that makes your drive even more exhilarating. The K15 engine, in this configuration, is available in the Vitara Brezza with manual transmission.

K15B Petrol Engine with Smart Hybrid: This is again a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is BS6 compliant and comes with the progressive Smart Hybrid Technology. It has an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) and an advanced dual battery setup that offers features like Idle Stop Start, Brake Energy Regeneration, and Torque Assist functions. These features take your driving experience to a whole new level. The K15B petrol engine with Smart Hybrid Technology delivers the best car mileage of 20.65 km/l* in 5-speed manual variant and 20.04 km/l in Ciaz AT.
