AGS

Thanks to the Intelligent Shift Control Actuator on-board, AGS ensures synchronized control over the clutch, shifting, and engine for smoother gear changes. Performing the clutch and shift operations automatically without requiring human efforts and enabling the user to experience the futuristic two-pedal technology is essentially how an automatic gear system works.

AGS technology offers other benefits as well, such as Creep Mode to tackle slow-moving traffic jams easily, Kick Down function for better acceleration, improved engine performance and fuel-efficiency. AT

Maruti Suzuki Automatic Transmission (AT) technology comes with a completely automated gearbox that self-changes vehicle gear ratios, without any driver intervention. This makes the AT extremely convenient for users and offers immense comfort, driving pleasure and performance.

The AT technology consists of three main components - torque converter, planetary gear system, and hydraulic controls. It involves the car’s ECU to control a torque converter, which takes care of the gear selection. The gears are selected depending on the load and the speed of the vehicle. It also gets the Hill Assist Feature that helps in keeping the car steady when it stops on an incline.

The technology, on the whole, has also been optimized by Maruti Suzuki as per the Indian road and traffic conditions to offer superior performance.

CVT

Another advanced automatic transmission from Maruti Suzuki, CVT is well-known for offering a seamless driving experience. By virtue of how it functions, CVT offers infinite gear ratios consequently offering excellent drivability and improved fuel-efficiency.

CVT has a unique two-pulley system, avoiding the conventional gears, which result in smooth speed transition throughout the engine’s power band. Also, since the transmission allows the engine to stay in the highest possible efficiency band, the fuel-efficiency is highly improved.
