What is AT Technology?

An Automatic Transmission unit is a completely automated gearbox that self-changes vehicle gear ratios, freeing the driver from having to shift gears manually. It consists of three main components - hydraulic coupling (torque converter), planetary gears system and hydraulic controls.

How AT works?

Torque converter is the hydraulic coupling between the engine and transmission unit that transfers power from engine to transmission. The vehicle speed variation to meet varied driving requirements is achieved by use of Planetary Gear System. Each of the gear ratio is provided with a dedicated wet clutch system. The operation of wet clutches is managed by the hydraulic control system. Automatic Transmission is controlled and operated by Transmission Electronic Controller Unit that operates the hydraulic system of Automatic transmission to operate the combination of torque converter & wet clutches.
