WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION? | Arenaworld

Driving through the traffic during peak hours requires a good amount of effort and it also reduces the fuel economy of the car. Keeping this in mind, many car owners have switched to cars with automatic transmission for seamless driving experience and the utmost comfort even in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

There are many benefits of automatic transmission that are contributing to this growing preference for automatic cars. These include: -

1. Driving comfort

One of the best advantages of driving an automatic car is the convenience it offers. Thanks to the clutch-pedal-less operation and the fact that you don’t have to shift gears manually. Driving a car with automatic transmission affords a lot of comfort to the driver, whether it is short city commutes or outstation trips.

2. Good Fuel Economy

Fuel consumption has always been a major point of concern for people opting for an automatic car. But with multiple technology choices in the form of AGS (Auto Gear Shift), AT (Automatic Transmission) and CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) by Maruti Suzuki, this is no longer a worry. Each of these automatic transmissions has been tuned for Indian driving conditions and are optimized to deliver the ideal balance of performance and fuel-efficiency.

3. Engineered for Versatility and Great Performance

Let’s start with Auto Gear Shift. In AGS cars by Maruti Suzuki, you get the flexibility of switching between Automatic and Manual modes. Additionally, AGS comes equipped with Creep and Kick Down functions. The Creep function enables you to drive the car at low speeds in traffic simply by releasing the brake pedal. Then there’s the Kick Down function which comes into play to provide instantaneous power and torque for better acceleration (based on acceleration inputs).

In AT, the automatic transmission is quite responsive to driving inputs; it has sufficient power on tap to deliver quick acceleration and solid driving performance. There’s a Hill Hold function as well that prevents the car from rolling backwards when driving on inclines.

As for CVT, the engine operates in the highest possible efficiency band to deliver smooth and linear performance. At the same time, there’s also an L mode which comes in handy when driving on inclines, whether it is hills, basement parking lots or flyovers.
