New Delhi: Reinforcing its undisputed leadership in India’s van segment, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (Maruti Suzuki) announces the landmark 15 lakh cumulative sales milestone for the Eeco. Launched in January 2010 and specifically designed for India, the Eeco has emerged as a trusted mobility partner for families, entrepreneurs, businesses and institutions across the country. Over the years, it has enabled family journeys, powered livelihoods and supported essential mobility requirements through its distinctive combination of space, practicality, versatility and dependability.
The Eeco’s growth journey has gathered momentum with every milestone. The first 5 lakh sales took eight years, while the next 5 lakh were achieved in under five years. The recent 5 lakh sales have been achieved in three-and-a-half years, making this the fastest 5 lakh sales milestone in the Eeco’s journey.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The 15 lakh sales milestone is a celebration of the progress of our customers and the enduring trust they have placed in Eeco. From families experiencing the joy of mobility, to entrepreneurs building their businesses and institutions delivering essential services, Eeco has played many roles in the lives of its customers. Its deep connection with Bharat is reflected in the fact that 65% of Eeco sales came from rural markets in FY 2025-26, while 55% of customers are first-time buyers and over 51% are business owners. For many customers, Eeco is not just a mode of transport; it is an enabler of aspiration and livelihood. We thank our customers for making Eeco a trusted partner in their progress.”
Eeco’s customer base reflects the changing face of India. Customers are getting younger and moving up the income ladder, while the brand continues to bring more people into four-wheeler mobility. At the heart of Eeco’s enduring appeal is its ability to serve diverse needs without losing sight of its core purpose. The portfolio spans 13 variants across 5-seater and 6-seater passenger versions, Tour V, Ambulance and Cargo models, with petrol and S-CNG powertrain choices. This Eeco’s versatility supports everyday family mobility, tourism, cargo movement, entrepreneurial requirements and essential services through a single, highly adaptable platform.
Maruti Suzuki has continuously evolved the Eeco through meaningful product interventions while retaining the practicality and value that define the brand. The latest Eeco is powered by the 1.2L Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine, delivering fuel-efficiency of 19.71 km/l# in petrol and 26.78 km/kg# in S-CNG. The growing preference for S-CNG is reflected in its share of Eeco sales rising four-fold, from 12% in FY 2019-20 to 48% in FY 2025-26.
Safety and comfort have also remained integral to Eeco’s evolution. The 2026 Eeco is equipped with 6 airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Program (ESP®)*, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensors, 3-point ELR seatbelts for all seats, seatbelt reminders, speed alert system, side-impact beams and other safety features. Practical comfort features include a digital instrument cluster, air conditioning, HVAC controls, dome lamp with battery saver function and reclining front seats.
To celebrate the milestone of 15 lakh Eeco sales in India, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Eeco Star Edition. Designed to offer a more stylish and premium appeal, the Eeco Star Edition comes equipped with 18 exclusive exterior and interior accessories, enhancing both aesthetics and cabin experience. The addition of body-coloured bumpers further elevates the vehicle's appearance, giving it a more refined and contemporary design. With these thoughtful enhancements, the Eeco Star Edition aims to strengthen the model's appeal among its customers while commemorating the enduring success of one of India's most trusted and versatile vans.
