A Dzire-able milestone: Maruti Suzuki Dzire crosses 3.5 million cumulative production

New Delhi: Creating a new benchmark, Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s (“Maruti Suzuki”) popular sedan, the Dzire has surpassed the milestone of 3.5 million (35 lakh) cumulative production. Currently manufactured at the Company’s Manesar facility, Dzire achieved the milestone in approximately 18 years and 9 months, reflecting the sustained popularity of the sedan among customers in India and international markets. Alto, Swift and WagonR are the other models to cross this historic production milestone.

The Dzire is India’s highest-selling passenger vehicle^*. Further, it has notably earned a distinction as the first sedan to earn a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. The model has also been well received across international markets, featuring among the Company’s top five export models during the last financial year.

The latest generation Dzire, launched in November 2024, offers a progressive design, premium two-tone interiors, advanced features and enhanced fuel efficiency. Its recently introduced automatic S-CNG variant is India’s most fuel-efficient sedan^#, delivering 36.47 km/kg^**.

The Dzire achieved the 1 million (10 lakh) production milestone in April 2015, followed by 2 million (20 lakh) units in June 2019 and 3 million (30 lakh) units in December 2024. Its consistent customer acceptance has contributed to Maruti Suzuki’s leadership in the sedan segment for 19 consecutive years.

While the production of the first million units of Dzire took 7 years and 3 months, the last 1 million units were manufactured in 4 years and 4 months.
