New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India announced the introduction of two new variants: Vxi (O) and Vdi (O), of its popular premium sedan, Ciaz. The new variants, while offering all the features and attributes of the base variants Ciaz Vxi and Vdi, come with additional safety features including dual airbags, ABS, seat belt pre-tensioner & force limiters and seat belt reminder with buzzer (driver side).
Mr. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “By offering the option of more safety equipment on our base variants, we want to encourage customers to buy cars that enhance their safety. Besides all the features and attributes of Ciaz Vxi and Vdi, the “O” variants will be equipped with dual airbags, ABS and other safety features”
The new “O” variant will be available also on the Ciaz SHVS, the smart hybrid diesel car launched last week.
More safety features on V+ trims as well
In another initiative, the Company has decided to offer driver airbags as standard in all variants of Ciaz, including Vxi and Vdi. Further, the Ciaz V+ variants (both SHVS and petrol) will now be equipped with co-driver airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner & force limiters and seat belt reminder with buzzer (driver side).
Built-in Safety
Built on Suzuki’s TECT (Total Effective Control Technology), Ciaz offers immense body rigidity and stability. Crumple zones absorb the energy generated during an impact, while the frame disperses it away from the passenger cabin. The highly rigid cabin is also reinforced with side impact beams on the doors and reinforced frame members. Extensive use of High Tensile Steel makes the body stronger, safer and yet lighter.
