Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) sold a total of 62,996 factory-fitted CNG vehicles in FY 2014-15, a growth of 23% over previous year. The contribution of CNG vehicles to total sales increased to 5.4%, from 4.9 % in FY 2013-14. Maruti Suzuki, the first Company to introduce factory-fitted CNG cars in India in 2010, offers six dual fuel (CNG+Petrol) models namely Alto, Alto K-10, Celerio, Wagon R, Eeco and Ertiga. The CNG variants of Alto K-10 and Celerio were launched in 2014-15. CNG is a cleaner fuel and emits a negligible amount of PM10 and PM2.5.
