| Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 80,298 vehicles in June 2011. This includes 10,278 units for export. The company had sold a total of 88,091 vehicles in June 2010. During the month production in the company's Manesar plant was impacted due to a strike by a section of employees. There was no production for 10.5 days. In addition, owing to the planned maintenance shutdown, the Company's Gurgaon facilities were closed for 6 days (20June to 25June 2011). The planned maintenance shutdown at Manesar facilities started from 27June and continues till 2July 2011. There was no production during this period. (A 6-day maintenance shutdown was also observed in June 2010 at the Company's production facilities.) The sales figures for June 2011 are given below: |
