In absolute value, this ranges from approximately Rs. 21,000 on Versa to Rs. 28,000 on Baleno. This rebate is available on Versa 5 seater, Esteem, Swift & Baleno i.e. the vehicles having seating capacity up to seven including the driver (Rebate on Car , Alto, Omni, Zen & Wagon R is not available now due to reduction in Excise Duty as per Budget 06-07 ), subject to registration by the local RTO as 'Taxi'.       Processing of Excise rebate claims for Marutis taxi customers has now been made very smooth.       Customers can expect their refund cheques within a month of submission of their refund application along with   specified documents to the dealer from where the vehicle was purchased. For any queries with regard to procedure or current status, you can contact the dealer, who can check   it from the central computer system. Documents must be submitted strictly according to this list. Documents must be correct, complete, genuine, and submitted within the time limit. Where formats are given, the customer must get the format typed, fill it in, and sign it as required.         Time limit       The vehicle against which the refund is desired, must be registered as Taxi within 3 months of MSIL Invoice (The invoice against which the vehicle is sold to the dealer and not the sale invoice of the Dealer). All refund documents accompanied by a refund application form duly filled and signed by the dealer should reach MSIL within 5.5 months of the date of MSIL Invoice. MSIL, on receipt of the documents, shall allot a record no. to every claim which can be seen by the dealer on extranet along with the deficiencies, if any. This serves as the acknowledgement cum deficiency report.       Cheque issue   Cheques for Excise rebate would normally be issued within 15 days of date of acknowledgement of the correct and complete documents by MSIL.       Delayed submission   A refund claim received in MSIL after 5.5 months of MSIL invoice shall not be processed for refund and is liable to be rejected. If the deficiencies pointed out in a claim received even within 5.5 months of MSIL invoice are not rectified within this period, the same shall get rejected. There is no provision of condonation of delay in submission in the current Excise laws.
