I joined Maruti as a fresh engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur in 1984. It’s
been 29 memorable years of enrichment and development. I feel privileged to be part
of this family which not only helped me to grow in my professional stature but also
fulfilled my aspirations of learning and growth. I have been through various domains
like Supply Chain, Production Planning, Plant Control, Engine and Vehicle Plants
including Plant Maintenance. This diverse exposure has helped me to understand the
business in total and realize my full potential.
Vice President - Dealer Development and Used Car Sale Business
I joined Maruti after completing my graduation from IIT, Kanpur in 1989. I got an
opportunity to be a part of the core team which was setting up the manufacturing
lines for New models and Automation. The initial experience was of immense help
in terms of honing my skill with regard to managing projects. Subsequently, the
company gave me an opportunity to work across the business value chain. I joined
Marketing & Sales vertical in 2001, wherein I started as the Product Manager,
handling flagship brands like WagonR. Being from a technical background; it helped
me in explaining the customer expectations to R&D effectively.
Thereon, I moved on to become the Commercial Business Head in Sales and currently
I head the Dealer Development and Used Car Sales Business. I feel Maruti believes
in investing in its people and building their capabilities. This helps it to develop
well rounded professionals. I am a proud Marutian and feel privileged to be a part
of this company.

I joined Maruti Suzuki as a management trainee in 1994 after completing my MBA from
IIM Lucknow. For the past 19 years, I have loved being part of this esteemed organization.
In Maruti Suzuki, I started my career with logistics which laid the foundation of
my strong fundamentals, taught me the importance of building strong systems and
processes as well as surviving in a rugged environment. Then I grew as a Regional
Manager, to explore the front end of sales operations. A successful stint in the
field sales was followed by heading the Sales Planning that taught me the finer
aspects of forecasting, pricing and integrating information to derive optimum business
outputs. Now as the National Head of Sales, I am responsible for driving the overall
sales and market share for the company.
At MSIL you are encouraged to take initiatives, independent business decisions with
the strong backing of the company. There is a culture of discipline, mutual respect
and transparency amongst colleagues. Those who stay for long are rewarded by the
company in the form of job rotation and new learning opportunities.

My journey at Maruti has been exciting, challenging and full of learning. I joined
Maruti as a GET in 1991, got the opportunity to get design training in Japan and
have worked in product engineering and supplier quality assurance functions.
I also received ample support and encouragement from my seniors to pursue my academic
studies and completed my MBA and PhD while working here. Besides working on various
roles in functional domain, I got opportunities to work on various cross functional
projects and activities, including roles in industry associations and professional
