Igatpuri – An Idyllic Location |

Sometimes non-descript towns make better getaways than well known ones. They are less crowded and less commercialised. Igatpuri, is one such location. Situated in the Western Ghats and lying about 2000 ft above sea level, this hill station is in the Nashik District between Mumbai and Nashik Road.
Igatpuri has some of the most stunning valleys and waterfalls. It is surrounded by the highest peaks of the Sahayadri range. Igatpuri is far cooler than the popular Lonavala and Khandala, - all the more reason to head towards this place for a weekend respite. Since the climate is always cool, it can be visited any time of the year. Sometimes monsoons are favoured because of the scenic beauty it presents. Monsoons provide this place with a special hue especially the milky white waterfalls against the lush greenery of the surrounding hill side. Adventure seekers might like to explore nature trails, along the Bhatsa valley and Camel Valley. |
