Biligirirangana hills – A wildlife haven

A picturesque landscape, scenic beauty and excitement in the wild, what more do you need? The BR hills have it all. Enjoy a holiday at this charming location.

The Biligiriranga Hills, commonly called B R Hills, is a hill range situated in south-eastern Karnataka between the Kavery and the Kapila rivers, at an elevation of 5,091 feet above sea level.

The hills are named "Biligiri", in local parlance, due to the white mist that covers these lofty hills, for a greater part of the year.

The range is a link between the eastern and western ghats due to the route taken by the river Kavery. The river as it flows from the south east at Kollegal, courses through the north and returns to its initial course, thus linking the two ranges.

Engulfed by the deciduous forest all around, there is enough opportunity to explore the wilderness. The forest is home to many species of wild animals like Gaurs, Chital, Sambhar, Bears, Elephants, Panthers and Tigers besides an exotic array of birds.

The hills offer an opportunity to blow your cares away and bask in the natural glory at its scenic locale in close communion with nature.
