A Break at Barog
     
  A little distance from Shimla is a quaint little place called Barog which was once just a stopover for travellers to Shimla. Barog has come a long way since then and is now a destination in itself welcoming, travellers looking for a respite in destinations that are not really crowd pullers.

Situated in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, located at a height of 1560 metres above the mean sea level, surrounded by pine trees and oak trees, with the magnificent Choor Chandini mountains at a distance, this scenic location emanates a placid charm.

  Lake Renuka
Renuka Lake is the largest lake in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is names after the Goddess Renuka.
  Rajgarh
Rajgarh is a pleasant spot with plenty of orchards. There are a few picnic spots near by like Habban and Nacchna. There is also an ancient brewery and distillery on the Rajgarh Road close to Solan.
  Solan
Solan's attractions are the old Jatoli temple and the Shalooni Devi temple.
  Kiarighat
Kiarighat is a picturesque place in Solan District and is 23 km from Shimla.
  Dagshai
Dagshai was a British cantonment. The attractions here is an ancient church.

Besides the sightseeing spots, hill stations of Kasauli and Shimla are close by.
