For over a decade Maruti Suzuki has been hosting some of the world's toughest motorsport rallies (Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya and Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm) in the Northern and Western region of India. The increasing popularity of motorsports and demand by the motoring enthusiasts from South India encouraged Maruti Suzuki to introduce a motoring rally specific to this region. This led to the introduction of Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare a one-of-a-kind off-road rally to reach out to the customers and motorsport enthusiasts in the South India.
Since its introduction in 2009 the rally has seen growing participation from the motoring enthusiasts. In the recently concluded 4th Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare rally 2012, over 200 motorsport enthusiasts participated in the five-day event.
The Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare covers around 2000 kms traversing through the southern states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu. Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare tests the nerve and grit of participants as well as the cars that they drive. This Time-Speed -Distance format rally proves to be an exciting event for fresh rally enthusiasts and professional rallyists.
