Cars for a New India |
| |
We have tried to keep pace with the changing lifestyle of our customers by bringing models high on 'style and design quotient'. Some of our recent offerings like the Swift, Zen Estilo (Spanish for Style) and SX4 have become popular choices because customers find them relevant.
While desigining contemporary cars and lacing them with latest safety features we have remained vigilant and cautious of pricing them aggresively for our customers by adopting a target cost approach. |

Target Cost Approach |
| |
Through continous study and research we have adopted a new approach towards product planning and product pricing- Target Cost Approach.
We now begin designing our products by keeping an aggressive market price in mind. We work it backwards to arrive at target costs for different components, equipment and for manufacturing operations. Growing design capability in the area of cars, components and dies, both within the company and among suppliers, have helped us foster this 'target cost' approach.
That possibly explains why we are able to bring out fresh models with high levels of localisation and aggressive pricing. |

The Zen Facelift |
| |
Our first major break through in terms of designing was the face-lift of old Zen. Thereafter, many other models like Alto, Omni, Esteem have been tastefully faceliftted. |

Swift the trendsetter |
| |
The turning point in product designing came with the Swift launch in 2005.
Swift became a trendsetter of the sorts and helped us change our image as a car maker who could also offer cars with high style quotient.
Swift helped us win confidence of new India or so to say new profile of customers who had earlier migrated to competition owing to our conventional design. This trend was reinforced by Zen Estilo, new Wagon R, Swift Diesel, and lately, SX4 and Grand Vitara. |
